ASTROLOGICAL FORECAST FOR MAY 2016

"Taking Our Time"
The first lunation for this month is the New Moon in Taurus on May 6. A Grand Trine in Earth links Pluto and Jupiter with the joined Sun and Moon. You don't get much more grounded than that. What is being suggested here, since the New Moon is the seeding time, is that we plant ourselves solidly on the ground of what is going on around us as we make our decisions about what we choose to donate our energies to. Mars is retrograde so the movement this month is not going to be as forward pushing. This is a time to assess, jot down our most light-filled inspirations. Duly notate where our ambition for success of whatever nature is pivoting from positions that suddenly feel secondary to a higher vision that is felt if not yet perceived. That is a complicated sentence but hang out with it for a bit. There is a subtle battle going on between what we identify with, what we have gotten used to and find comfortable (even if we gripe about it), and some much greater possibilities ready to be brought in and nourished.
The first three weeks of this month is not a time to rush things. There is a T-Square in mutable signs (Jupiter Square Saturn while Opposing Neptune) which will allow us to feel very fluid as we flow with cosmic winds. All the Earth in the New Moon chart will feel solid enough under our bodies and psyches that we can just find all the "infinite variety" and change that mutable signs offer mostly just interesting, even fascinating. It will be most helpful to align with those who share your openness to the richness of this time. Cherish the sense of community and don't forget the popcorn.
The political scene is playing out so many prominent astrological themes this year, and that is certainly true of this month as well. The dichotomy between power that wants to keep control versus the readiness of the ones who, in spite of their dependency on instituted systems, feel called to take back ownership of themselves . . this will be most evident. It is complicated, for sure, but there is a flow to things (all that mutability) that, if acknowledged, will allow for some amazing synchronicities to guide us through, personally and collectively. If you look closely, you might detect a level of many being relaxed in spite of the strangeness of the times. This will continue. By the time of the Full Moon, on May 21, with Sun in Gemini and Moon in Sagittarius, we will feel we have gone through something (especially internally) and kept the faith. By all rights, we will feel smarter and more self-trusting.
On May 22, Mercury goes direct so, go ahead and buy that new Tesla (brilliantly earth friendly car) now. Or, maybe wait a few days until Mercury gets up to speed. One of the effects of a Grand Trine in Earth that we had earlier in the month is that those who are awakening are more attuned to the earth herself, and her needs. The Solar Impulse airplane that is running purely on electricity as it circumnavigates the globe is continuing on this month. What a perfect match for a Grand Trine in Earth month.
Jupiter also goes direct this month, on May 9. Since Jupiter is in Virgo, you can now tear into doing those spread sheets you put on a back burner. You now know enough to fill in the appropriate blanks.
